There is also a campground located behind Boomtown for campers and RVs but I didn't stop to check it out this time. All the staff members that I encountered were friendly and helpful. The prices were a fraction of the high end steak houses in other gambling facilities and the service was attentive but not intrusive. I also ate dinner in the Boomtown steak house which was excellent - the filet mignon just the right size and cooked perfectly to my liking. It was clean, not smoky and well stocked with hundreds of top end and new slot machines (my favorite). I was really surprised when I got inside and found how nice the place was (you couldn't really tell from a quick drive-by).
I often drove by Boomtown on the way into the city but this time decided to stop there for a change from the glitter and noise of downtown. I visit Reno two or three times a year and usually stay and gamble in one of the large hotel/casinos in or near downtown.
